Final Game at The Diamond – Richmond Flying Squirrels

This panoramic photograph captures a historic moment in Richmond baseball history — the final Richmond Flying Squirrels game ever played at The Diamond, the city’s professional baseball home for four decades.

On September 14, 2025, a sold-out crowd filled the stadium one last time to say goodbye to the iconic ballpark before the team moved to its new home at CarMax Park the following season. Fans packed every section to witness the closing chapter of Richmond baseball at The Diamond, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of celebration and nostalgia.

In the final game, the Richmond Flying Squirrels faced the Hartford Yard Goats, with Hartford defeating Richmond 5–2 in 10 innings to close the 2025 season.

This image preserves that final afternoon — the field, the crowd, and the stadium that hosted professional baseball in Richmond since 1985.
